EP 17: Prolozone Therapy Part 2

On this episode, Dr. Agolli and Dr. Meyer continue the discussion on Prolozone Therapy.

  1. Who is a candidate for Prolozone?
  2. What can you expect when you have Prolozone Therapy?
  3. Examples of patients who have used Prolozone Therapy.
  4. The proper injection protocol of Prolozone Therapy.
  5. Why you should check the credentials of a physician before you have Prolozone Therapy.

Prolozone therapy is a regenerative medicine technique that involves the injection of ozone in and around ligaments where they attach to the bone. The injected ozone increases blood supply and flow of healing nutrients. It also stimulates deposition and activity of cells called fibroblasts and chondroblasts. By supporting your body’s inherent healing power, Prolozone has the chance to address the underlying causes of musculoskeletal pain and restore your ability to lead an active life.

Musculoskeletal pain is chronic pain that affects the entire musculoskeletal system. It affects the muscles, bones, and other structures in the body that support its movement. It can feel like a dull ache, a burning sensation, or a sharp, stabbing pain. Musculoskeletal pain can be acute, meaning it is sudden and severe. Or the pain can be chronic (long-lasting). You may have localized pain (in one area of your body), or it may affect your entire body.

Musculoskeletal pain can be caused by a variety of factors. Common causes of musculoskeletal pain include bone fractures, joint dislocation (when something forces a joint out of its proper position), direct blows to muscles, bones or joints, overuse injuries, poor posture, and sprains. Injury is the most common cause of musculoskeletal pain. Other causes include arthritis, overuse, poor posture, and referred pain that’s radiated from another area.
